General Information

Willow Thatch is a Grade II listed two bedroom cottage in the pretty (some would say Exmoor's prettiest)   medieval village of Dunster. It has historic charm and modern facilities which will help make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. There is some double glazing, gas central heating, a fully equipped kitchen, a small courtyard, 2 TV's, a DVD, a VCR and an xbox (plus disc, tapes and games for you to choose from) and a small selection of books and toys / games etc. There is a king size bed in the main bedroom and two singles in the second bedroom. All towels and bed linen is provided with the exception of cot bedding and beach towels. Children are catered for with a drop sided cot and high chair available and well behaved pets are welcomed (£15 extra for pets).

The cottage itself is located minutes from the castle and water mill on West Street which is Dunster's oldest street. There is a good car park nearby (for which I can let you have a permit allowing you to park there for free) or you may find a spot on the street. There are several pubs, restaurants and cafes to choose from and the children's playground with picnic tables is only a few minutes walk.

The local scenery is simply stunning, all the more so because, of the UK's national parks, Exmoor is a comparatively undiscovered.   Those of you who visit   the Lakes, the Dales, the Peak district and the New Forest will know exactly what I mean. In my opinion the moor is at its best when it spills spectacularly into the sea and this is seen with great effect from many vantage points on the south west coast path that starts in Minehead and exits Exmoor at Coombe Martin before carrying on all the way to Poole.

Lynmouth, Porlock, Exford, Allerford, Dulverton, Wimbleball the list goes on of beautiful places to visit within the boundary of the National Park. Perhaps the most gratifying aspect about staying in Dunster though is the ability to step out the front door and go for a good walk through the most amazing countryside without ever having to resort to the car.

If have any more questions then please get in touch and I will answer your specific questions. I can assure you that it is a genuine home from home with charm and facilities.
